Shop Drawing Coordination
The façade restoration of 17 Battery Place (The Whitehall Building) included replacement of all terra cotta at the pediment parapet arch.
17 Battery Place – The Whitehall Building, New York
The Goal: Utilize terra cotta and GFRC together to replicate the exact appearance of the original pediment arch at the top of the building. The Problem: Shop drawings from each manufacturer were being produced independently by each company without coordination. The Solution: Stone Details field dimensioned the existing pediment structure, prepared existing condition drawings, coordinated the terra cotta and GFRC shop drawings together into this matrix, identified conflicts and redesigned conflict areas to properly integrate these materials together.
Almost every drafting job requires coordination with other materials.
Sometimes, coordination is a job of it’s own!
Knickerbocker Hotel, New York
Exterior facades of buildings are complex, integrated systems of custom products. Understanding how these materials work together and coordinating their fit is a vital part of the construction process. Stone Details was retained by the installer to coordinate the field survey & shop drawings for the new stone façade of the Knickerbocker Hotel.
